Purwakarta, West Java (ANTARA News) - At least 18,816 motor vehicles are predicted to pass through Cikampek Toll gate in West Java on Saturday.

According to data from Cikampek Toll management, around 18,816 east-bound motor vehicles would pass through the gate on Saturday, while on Friday or seven day before the post-Ramadan Idul Fitri festivity, 21,332 vehicles exited from the same gate.

The data indicated that the number of vehicles passing through the gate on Friday was more than being estimated by the Cikampek Toll management.

It predicted earlier that at least 15,789 vehicles would pass through the gate on Friday but it turned out to be 21.332.

The increasing number of motor vehicles leaving behind Cikampek Toll gate on Friday had contributed to traffic jam along Java island`s northern coastal highway since Friday night until Saturday morning.

At noon on Saturday the traffic at the northern coastal highway toward Cirebon returned to normal but later at night it is predicted to be congested again.

Meanwhile Indonesia Traffice Police spokesman Brig Gen Djoko Susilo when visiting Cikampek Toll gate on Saturday said the this year`s Lebaran holiday exodus at the toll gate was predicted to reach its peak at two days and one day before Lebaran.

During the visit to Cikampek Toll gate, Djoko Susilo gave directives to West Java traffic police officials to sincerely regulate the traffic around the toll gate and along the northern coastal highway.(*)
