Karo, North Sumatra (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has already submitted the name of the candidate for the new Defense Forces commander to the House of Representatives (DPR) on September 3, 2010, his spokesman Julian Aldrin said.

He said on the sidelines of President Yudhoyono`s inspection to the locations accomodating evacuees from recent eruptions of Mount Sinabung here on Monday that the letter was received by the DPR secretariate.

He said President Yudhoyono only submitted one name who will replace current commander General Djoko Santoso who would retire soon.

Julian declined to mention the name or from which forces he comes from.
"I could not tell it. But the President listened to inputs from various parties considered able to give good suggestions," he said.

Julian assured that the candidate was the best.

General Djoko Santoso meanwhile said he had given three names to the President. He said the came from the three forces. He however declined to tell the reasons for choosing the three. "That is a corporate secret," he said.
