RI`s women`s team runner up in Asian Bridge Cup

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian women`s bridge team had on Sunday to be satisfied being the runner-up in the First Asian Bridge Cup Championship in Niang Bao, China, after bagging 274 victory points.
The Indonesian women`s team consisted of Lusje Bojoh/Joice Tueje, Suci Amita Dewi/Kristina Wahyu and Rury Andhani/Fransisca Aryani. It performed won unequivocally against Pakistan and played even with Sri Lanka. The Indonesia team, sponsored by the Djarum Bridge Club, had Bambang Hartono as manager and Munawar Sawiruddin as non-playing captain.
As the world champion in 2009 and defending champion in 2010, China left behind its rival with 312 victory points, followed by Indonesia as runnerup with 274 victory points and Taiwan in third place with 267 victory points.
Considering Sunday`s results in Niang Bao, PB Gabsi was optimistic Indonesia could become overall champion at the SEA Games 2011 because Indonesia was above all other Southeast Asian nations , like Singapore, Thailand, Philippines and Malaysia.
"We are sure based on thes results, our target to become overall bridge champion at the SEA Games 2011 will be reached," said Bert Toar Polii, PB Gabsi deputy decretary genera, Monday.
Furthermore, PB Gabsi which is chaired by Dahlan Iskan was planning to send the Indonesian bridge champions to the World Championship in Philadelphia, USA next October, Bert said.
