Semarang, C Java (ANTARA News) - Central Java`s Health Office is providing Lebaran holiday travelers with 159 health posts across the province.

"Those 159 health posts are set up at public places such as marketplaces, bus terminals, railway stations, airports, and recreation sites," Central Java Health Office spokesman Mardiatmo said here on Monday.

In addition, he said the health posts were also located at a number of points liable to traffic accidents.

According to Mardiatmo, the health posts were intended to give the best possible health services to Lebaran holiday travelers who need medical assistance in their way to their respective home villages to observe the festivity with their relatives.

"Medical team at the posts will only give basic health assistance to the problematic travelers but those who happen to have extraordinary accident will be referred to regional public hospitals and some 74 private hospitals in Central Java," he said.

He said medical personnel, medicines, and health service facilities would be prepared at each of the health posts for all travelers who passed through Central Java with no respecter of person.

Mardiatmo even said Lebaran monitoring command posts were also set up and would remain on guard for 24 hours starting from September 3 - 18, 2010 at Central Java Health Office.

"The Lebaran monitoring posts are equipped with an ambulance, communication facility, and the post operation under the coordination of Central Java integrated command post," Mardiatmo said.

Besides, he said 1,406 community clinics and hospitals at 35 districts and cities in Central Java were also made ready to give medical assistance to the holiday travelers.
He added that community clinics and the health posts were also made ready along the northern coastal highway and southern highway of Java island. (*)
