Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to inspect preparations for the transportation of Idul Fitri home-bound travelers at the Kampung Rambutan bus terminal in east Jakarta on Tuesday.

However, Sylvana Siregar, head of the Kampung Rambutan bus terminal, said Monday she had not been officially informed about it.

"But, I heard about it," she said.

Last year, three days prior to Idul Fitri , around 32,415 passengers left for their hometowns by 767 buses from the terminal.

In total, the terminal provided at least 9,828 buses for 226,925 passengers during the week prior to Idul Fitri in 2009, down 10.45 percent from 258,562 passengers a year earlier.

Over the past four or five years, the number of home-bound travelers leaving from the terminal had decreased by around 10 percent annually as more and more people eventually chose to use motorbikes.

Another factor which had caused the number of the terminal`s users to drop was free transportation offered by certain companies for home-bound travelers.

Kampung Rambutan terminal had prepared around 216 security personnel comprising police and military personnel as well as transportation and health officers, this year.
