Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Composite Stock Price Index at the Indonesian Stock Exchange here Tuesday morning got off to a strong start as investors still actively bought blue-chip stocks.

The JKSE index rose 9.113 points or 0.38 percent to 3,226.261 points and the LQ-45 index advanced 2.314 points or 0.38 percent to 609.512 points.

The buying activity was boosted by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS)`s data on the better-than-expected Indonesian economic growth at six percent, according to Ahmad Riyadi, a stock market analyst of PT Millennium Danatama Securities.

"We believe the index is heading toward a new record after reaching the level of 3,200 points not long ago," he said.
