Surabaya, E Java (ANTARA News) - Cellular phone operator PT Telkomsel has set itself the target of getting 350 thousand people in Java and Bali to subscribe to its recently luanched mobile newspaper service until the end of 2010.
Customers had given good response to the new service and more than 120,000 customers had already accessed it, PT Telkomsel Vice President for Java and Bali Gilang Prasetya said here on Tuesday.
"In the initial phase, the mobile newspaper service promotion targeted customers. Hopefully, around 350 thousand customers will access the service until the end of this year," he said.
The mobile newspaper service allowed customers to access latest and actual news stories from leading newspapers with national circulation through their cellular phones, he said.
"In providing the service, we cooperate with a number of leading national media companies, such as Kompas, Seputar Indonesia and Trust Magazine. We will cooperate with more media companies," he said.
To get the service, subscribers only paid a subscription fee of Rp2,000 per week or Rp7,000 per month, he said.
By contacting *939# through their cellular phones customers could choose mobile newspapers in the menu, he said.
In the initial phase, only subscribers in Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara could access the service and later it would be developed nationwide, he said. (*)
