Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The state enterprises ministry is selecting state-owned companies which are ready to go public next year.

State Enterprises Minister Mustafa Abubakar said at the Indonesia Stock Exchange here on Wednesday that some of the companies being processed are operating in the fields of services, energy and insurance.

"We are still selecting them but I am sure seven are now quite ready. I cannot yet disclose their names. I hope the number that will conduct an IPO will eventually reach 10," he said.

Regarding the planned merger of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Flexi) and PT Bakrie Telcom (Esia), the minister said he was leaving the matter entirely to the two companies.

"We ask them to continue the negotiations and talks so long as it is win-win, go ahead. In short, we do not want to give directives and in a corporate action we would let Telkom determine by itself," he said.(*)
