Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Giant retailer PT Matahari Putra Prima Tbk has appointed international financial consultant Merril Lynch Pte Ltd to conduct a comprehensive strategic analysis of its business as part of efforts to increase its performance.

The strategic analysis was designed to identify and analyze all available opportunities to help the company achieve optimum performance, Matahari President Director Benjamin Mailool said in a press statement issued on Wednesday.

The analysis covered business acquisition, funding and partnership, he said.

"In all of our decisions, the interests of all shareholders are our priority," he said.
Therefore, the company was committed to developing its business aggressively, maintaining its market leadership and seeking other profitable opportunities, he said.

"As a pioneer of compact hypermarket whose business model has been put to a test, the company will keep focusing on food retail by expanding hypermarket to all parts of Indonesia," he said.(*)
