Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono chaired a limited cabinet meeting on Tuesday to discuss the strengthening of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) and the Prosecutors Oversight Commission.

Before attending the meeting, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto at Presidential Palace complex said the meeting was held to discuss presidential rule change plan about the National Police Commission and Prosecutorial Commission.

"I will present a plan to improve the role and function of Kompolnas. And there will also be presentation about the Prosecutorial Commission from empowerment minister of state apparatus," Djoko said.

He added that when a new presidential regulation was applied, the role of Kompolnas and Prosecutorial Commission in providing input to improve the National Police and Judiciary would be more significant.

The limited cabinet meeting which was started at 4 in the afternoon was closed to media coverage.

Present at the meeting were Justice and Human Rights Minister Ham Patrialis Akbar, Attorney General Basrief Arief, Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare Agung Laksono, National Defense Forces (TNI) Chief Admiral Agus Suhartono, Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam, and the state official for Presidential Unit for the Management of Reform Program Kuntoro Mangkusubroto.(*)
