Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Former vice president Jusuf Kalla will meet the summons of the Attorney General`s Office on Wednesday to be questioned as a mitigating witness in the alleged corruption case of suspect Yusril Ihza Mahendra.

The former vice president will be questioned by investigators of the junior attorney general for special crime affairs. "He is prepared to meet our invitation," AGO`s Spokesman Babul Khoir Harahap, said here on Tuesday.

Jusuf Kalla will act as a mitigating witness in the alleged Rp420 billion corruption case in the Online Business Registration Services (Sisminbakum) of the Law and Human Rights Ministry which involved then law and human rights minister Yusril Ihaza Mahendra.

Besides that, former coordinating minister for economic and industry affairs Kwik Kian Gie will also take the mitigating witness stance.

The two former state officials will take the witness stance at the request of Yusril. Yusril and Hartono Tanoesibyo, former chief commissioner of PT Sarana Rekatama Dinamika (SRD), were named suspects in the Sisminbakum alleged corruption case.

Babul Khoir said his side had sent the letters of invitation to Kalla and Kwik Kian Gie on December 29, 2010l. "They received the letters on December 30, 2010," he said.
He said that both of them would come to the AGO`s special crime affairs building at 10 am on Wednesday.(*)
