"The solutions we are going to implement are approaches from first downstream and later to upstream," he said at his office here on Thursday at a cabinet meeting on food prices.
He said the first solution is market operations to control the price of certain commodity.
The second and third solutions are special fiscal policy for food trade including exports and imports and assurance of domestic supply to meet demand.
The fourth is assuring that the domestic stock is strong to prevent speculations while the fifth is increasing food production and productivity.
Other solutions are promoting local and family-based food resilience movement, preventing hoarding and assuring accurate calculation or food production.
The last solution is assuring that a new policy or regulation is in place to assure the preservation of agricultural land.
On the occasion President Yudhoyono also expressed confidence that it could overcome the food problem as it had had a successful experience when dealing with the threat on global food crisis in 2007 and 2008.(*)
