Jakarta (ANTARA News) - PT Pertamina President Director Karen Agustiawan on Saturday came to Cilacap, Central Java, to personally monitor the efforts to extinguish a fire that broke out at a fuel tank at the company`s Refinery Complex.

"However, we are facing a slight problem, that is the changing wind direction and causing the fire spread to tank 31 T-3 which was located next to the burning tank," he said.

To overcome this, the company continues to increase the supply of foam, besides to emptying the contents of the tank.

"We also continued to prevent the spread of fire by using a water curtain to other nearby tanks," he said.

However, Pertamina has confirmed that the tank fire at the Cilacap refinery does not interrupt the fuel distribution and production line.
