Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The suicide bomb action in Cirebon was an inhuman and unreligious act because it was void of any religious value, the more so because it was committed in a mosque, Muhammadiyah chairman Din Saymasuddin said.

Din who was in Washington DC to attend a US-Islamic World Forum said in a short text message on Saturday that he condemned the terrorist act committed in a mosque.

He said the suicide bombing at Al Dzikro mosque at the Cirebon police station was definitely not based on religious values.

"The incident is likely to disturb Muslims and make them feel insecure or afraid of praying in mosques," Din said.

Din asked the government, especially the National Police, to investigate the incident thoroughly and catch its mastermind. He also called on the government to do more to guarantee public safety ans security.

The suicide bombing happened when the congregation in the mosque was about to begin Friday prayers n at 12.20 pm. About 28 people were injured by the explosion. The seriously wounded included Cirebon police chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Herukoco.

The only fatality was the suicide bomber. According to National Police Chief Timur Pradopo, the corpse of the bomber had been sent to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for an autopsy and identification.
