The heavy rains on Tuesday night caused the river next to the residential area to overflow, M Ahroni, chief of the neighborhood association said on Wednesday.
"The flood water began to inundate the houses at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday," he said.
Some of the houses were submerged by one-and-half-meter-deep flood water. However, no fatalities were reported in the flood.
He said the flood caused serious damage to houses located close to the river. (*)
