Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Ten Indonesian nationals who were evacuated from Sendai, Japan, due to the recent quake and its subsequent tsunami, arrived in Jakarta aboard a Garuda airplane on Wednesday evening.

The Indonesian embassy in Tokyo said on Tuesday a total of 94 Indonesians who were evacuated from the quake affected area in Japan also arrived in Jakarta on Tuesday morning.

The two groups of evacuees on Tuesday and Wednesday returned to Indonesia using a Garuda aircraft GA 885.

In the meantime, for the evacuation of other Indonesians, the embassy`s relief team 3 had departed to Miyagi (including Kesennuma and Ishinomaki) and areas included in the radius of closed areas in Fukushima. The areas in the radius are closed pending the return to normal their areas due to a nuclear reactor explosion.

Up to Wednesday morning, a total of 60 Indonesian nationals were found safe in Kesennuma.

National Police in Japan reported that the natural disaster had killed 3,676 people and 7,558 others went missing.(*)
