Cirebon, West Java News (ANTARA News) - PT Indocement Tunggal Perkasa Tbk. recorded an increase in domestic sales in 2010 of 8.5 percent or 12.8 million tons.

"Sales in the domestic market were very good recording an increase of 12.8 million tons in 2010," the company`s corporate secretary, Deny Handayani said to newsmen here on Saturday.

With the domestic sales at the level plus exports the cement maker in 2010 booked a net income of Rp11.138 billion and a net profit of Rp3.225 billion.

She said the increase in sales followed strong domestic demand especially from the housing sector.

Regarding exports she said they were lower than domestic market demand recorded at only around 35 percent of 1.0 million tons in 2010 down from 1.6 million tons in 2009.

She said the decline was caused by high domestic demand. The sale volume in 2010 only rose 3.2 percent to 13.9 million tons.
