Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA News) - IMB, an information and technology company has offered solutions to overcome traffic congestion in various big cities in Indonesia as the problem is considered to be very disturbing to national economic activities.

"In addition, the congestion problem can also reduce the interest of would-be investors to invest their funds in the country," Suryo Suwignjo, the IMB president director said in his press statement here on Thursday.

Various strategies which have been designed were aimed to make the transportation systems across the country more efficient, he said.

"In a bid to implement the solutions, we ask experts in this company to develop a holistic view of transportation systems and a realistic road map to overcome the congestion problems, Suryo said.

According to him, the so-called Smarter Transport Maturity Model will be implemented in Jakarta and is expected to analize the city`s current transportation condition.

The team assigned to reduce the congestions consists of five IBM executives who come from the United States, Britain and France, Suryo said, adding that they have started working on April 20, 2011 in cooperation with Jakarta provincial government.
