Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Ministry of Industry is preparing a number of memorandums of understanding on cooperation in several fields with China, a senior official said.

Director General of Industrial Cooperation Agus Tjahajana said here on Monday that the MoUs were expected to be signed when Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao visited Jakarta on April 28-30, 2011.

He said that the MoUs which were being prepared included agreement on a partnership promotion in the development of technology. This is between the ministry of Industry and the Chinese industry and information technology ministry.

"This is a follow-up of the result of the vice president`s visit to China in October 2010. During his visit, the vice president asked the minister of industry to increase cooperation in the industrial sector with China," he said.

He said that the ministry of industry would also draft an MoU on a capital investment with Sany Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. This company is planning to invest some 200 million dollars in Indonesia.

The investment is intended to increase or optimize the role of the ministry`s research training center and school in supporting industrial activities.

Agus Tjahajana also said that his directorate would also sign an MoU on corporate financial services with the Bank of China Ltd to help investment activities and business financing in the industrial sector.

The MoU will also be with the Chinese Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), he said.

"The signing will be made at the end of this month, and it would be followed up with the drafting of a more detailed action plan," he said.
