Bojonegoro, E. Java (ANTARA News) - Search and Rescue (SAR) team found three passengers of a ferryboat which sank in Bengawan Solo river in Padang village, East Java on Tuesday (May 3), a disaster handling official said.

"So far only three of the passengers were found dead on Tuesday night (May 3)," said Kasiyanto, head of the disaster handling agency here on Wednesday.

The first victim who was found and identified as Nurin Nikmah, 16, at 6 pm Western Indonesia Standard time on Tuesday in Bengawan Solo river near Menilo village, Soko sub-district in Tuban district.

Another victim identified as Nurul Wijayanti, 16, was found one hour and thirty minutes later in the river near Sranak village, Trucuk sub-district.

The SAR team then found the third victim identified as Agus Priyanto, 35, near Kalikethek bridge in Banjarsari village, Trucuk sub-district.

The three bodies were found about 15 kilometers from the location where the boat with 32 passengers on board went down in Bengawan Solo near Padang village.

All the three bodies were taken home by their families following identification by an East Java police medical team.

Previously, the SAR team had found the body of a woman passenger identified as Darsih, 35, several hours after the boat sank.

In addition, another five passengers identified as Yana Oktaviani, 15, Veti Maya Nurhidayah, 15, Sri Parti, 16, Ketut Arisanto, 30 and Darsini, 40 were still missing.

In the meantime, Police Commissioner Agus Wahono, head of operational division of Bojonegoro police precinct said that his office had identified the dead bodies in stages. (*)
