Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Chinese government will hold education exhibitions in four Indonesian cities, namely Jakarta, Semarang (Central Java), Surabaya (East Java) and Makassar (South Sulawesi) from May 7 to 15, Beijing Language Culture Institute (BLCI) said.

As many as 23 leading universities in China will participate in the 12th China & International Education Fair 2011, the press release issued by the Beijing Language Culture Institute and made available to ANTARA said here on Wednesday.

In Jakarta, the education exhibitions will take place in Mangga Dua Square on May 7-8. In Semarang, the exhibition will take place in May 10-11 at Horizon hotel.

Meanwhile, the education exhibition in Surabaya will be held in Tunjungan hotel on May 14 and in Makassar it will take place in Trans Studio Mall on May 15.

"At the 12th education exhibition in 2011, we choose the theme -To obtain quality education abroad, but remain affordable-" said Samuel Wiyono, Chairman of the Mangga Dua Square BLCI Foreign Students and Teachers Exchange said.

On the exhibition, he said, students who are interested to continue studying in China can get complete information and scholarship opportunities from colleges and scholarship from the China provincial government.

The scholarships include a place to live and direct scholarships ranging up to Rp13.5 million and the provincial scholarships of up to Rp27 million, he said.

Several universities also offer a fee free Mandarin learning in Shanghai and other big cities in China, Samuel said.

In addition, several foreign universities in China will also offer education programs like the Nottingham Ningbo University, Sino British College Shanghai, Ningbo University, CanberraUniversity and Raffles Design Institute Shanghai/Guangzhou.

The university representatives from the United States, Switzerland, and Malaysia will also take part in the exhibition, he said.
