Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Former Vice President Jusuf Kalla has called on the government to improve the nation`s weakness in creating social justice.

"I think social justice is the weak point of this nation that needs to be improved," Kalla said after receiving People`s Consultative Assembly (MPR) leaders at his residence here on Wednesday.

MPR Chairman Taufik Kiemas and his deputy chairpersons Hajriyanto Y Thohari, Melani Leimena Suharli and Ahmad Farhan Mamid

visited Kalla`s residence to invite the former vice president to speak at a function to mark Pancasila Sanctity Day on June 1, 20011.

Kalla said the nation`s weakness was not only in social justice but also in economic, political, and legal justice.

"Thus the main point is there should be justice and prosperity for all people in the country," the former vice president said.

Referring to the Unitary Sate of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), Kalla said it was already set in stone and thus the

stronger and more assertive application of law was needed to maintain the NKRI.

"Therefore the law must be strong," Kalla said after the meeting with the MPR leaders.

Besides meeting with the former vice president, the MPR leaders also visited former President Megawati Soekarnoputri and alo invited her to deliver a speech on Pancasila Sanctity Day.(*)
