Padang, W Sumatra (ANTARA News) - The West Sumatra government has set itself the target of producing 150 thousand tons of cultured fish this year, West Sumatra Governor Irwan Prayitno said.

The governor said here on Friday that the target this year was higher than that of the previous year which stood at 84.86 thousand tons.

He said that West Sumatra was expected to continue increasing its fishery products in its 2011-2015 medium-term development program.

The governor said that the fishery production figure was expected to increase to 192,500 tons in 2012, 243,100 tons in 2013, 306,000 tons in 2014 and 386,700 tons in 2015.(*)
