Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A number of House of Representatives (DPR)`s members have openly appreciated the tender process of Central Java PLTU power plant which would possibly be won by the JPower-Itochu-Adaro consortium.

The lawmakers believed that the tender process has passed a tight qualification which involved a number of noted foreign companies, Satya W Yudha of the DPR`s Commission VI on investment and industry affairs said.

The same views were also expressed by other Commission VI members such as Dewi Aryani Hilman of the Indonesian Democratic Party pf Struggle (PDIP) faction and Sutan Bhatoegana of the Democrat Party (PD) faction.

Satya who is a Golkar Party politician said that the tender for the Central Java PLTU power plant had been called professionally and transparently. The public was able to control the tender process.

But he reminded the PLN of the need for financial guarantee from the winning bidder so that it would not burden PLN later on.

"We have the experience in the past that funding had always become one of the constraints," he said.

In the meantime, state-owned electricity firm PT PLN said it would announce, in less than a month since May 24 2011, the winning bidder of its Central Java PLTU power plant tender.

PLN President Director Dahlan Iskan in press release said that his side would decide the winning bidder on Wednesday after his company carried out evaluation of bidders offers, through the second opening of responsive bidders envelopes and opening of financial bids.(*)
