Palu, Central Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Police sectors across Central Sulawesi raise national flags half-mast following the death of two police officers in an attack on Wednesday in Palu.

"We are still mourning and therefore we have raised the flag half-mast to respect the two victims," the Central Sulawesi police spokesman Adjunct Senior Commissioner Soemarno said here on Saturday.

Second brigadier Andi Irbar Prawira and Second Brigadier Januar Yudhistira died after being shot by unknown attackers at the Bank Central Asia in Palu while Second Brigadier Dedy Edward had been injured.

Soemarno said the Central Sulawesi police had asked all police sectors to increase their alertness against terrorism threats.

Security in vital objects has also been tightened such as banks, airport and seaport.

"We must not be off-guard and must always be ready to meet any threat," he said.

The police until now are still searching two of the four suspects involved in the incident.

Hundreds of personnel were involved in the search as the two men were considered dangerous.
