Palu, Central Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Paragliding enthusiasts from eight countries have registered for participation in a tournament dubbed "Indonesia Open" to be held in Sigi District, Central Sulawesi, on June 18-25, 2011.

The eight countries intending to send athletes to Central Sulawesi are Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Romania, Czech, Bulgaria, France, Russia and the Philippines, FX Murdianto, chairman of the Central Sulawesi` Aero Sport Federation (FASI), said here Monday.

Around 60 athletes have confirmed their intention to participate in the competition which would consist of two cross-country flight numbers.

The paragliders would take off from Wayu village, Kinovaro sub district, Central Sulawesi, while their landing site had yet to be decided but Porame and Balange villages in Marawola sub district, Sigi District, were two possible locations being considered.
