Bengkulu, Sumatra (ANTARA News) - An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale jolted Bengkulu, Sumatra, on Wednesday at around 1.13 pm Western Indonesian Standard Time (WIB).

The quake`s epicenter located at 5.05 degrees southern latitude and 102.82 degrees eastern longitude, around 69 km southwest of Bintuhan, Kaur District, Bengkulu Province, at a depth of about 18 km below sea level, according to information from the Kepahiang meteorological, climatology, and geophysics office.

Last week, Bengkulu was shaken by two earthquakes respectively with magnitudes of 5.2 and 5.6 on the Richter Scale. (F001/HAJM)
