Jambi, Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Sky Aviation will make maiden flight to the Depati Parbo airport in Jambi provincial district of Kerinci, Sumatra, on Monday (June 6, 2011), Tourism Travel Bureau Association spokesman said.

A Sky Aviation aircraft will fly from Jambi three times a week, said Roy Mardianto, the Tourism Travel Bureau Association (ASITA) secretary said here on Sunday.

The first flight of the Sky Aviation Fokker aircraft will be marked in a ceremony held by Jambi governor Hasan Basri Agus at Jambi Sultan Thaha airport at 9 am on Monday, Roy said.

In the meantime, the Archipelago network regional board chairman Dahril Alfath warned that the aircraft plying the Jambi-Kerinci route should be maintained if the government really wants to give a positive impact to the Kerinci people.

"The flight should be permanent although it is only two or three times a week, so it will benefit the Kerinci people," Dahril said, hoping that the flight can be conducted every day.

Dahril expressed regret if the flight to Kerinci is only temporary, for instance in holding government big and important events, like the Lake Kerinci festival from July 6 to 11, 2011.

If the flight to Kerinci is only temporary, it will stop after the Lake Kerinci festival is concluded, Dahril cited, adding it means that the government fails to manage the Kerinci district potential, and consequently the investors may not come, Dahril said. (*)
