Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police said they have arrested the alleged hacker of their website and identified him with the initials AK but could not say if the man was a student.

"We have arrested the person who damaged our website. His name is AK," head of the National Police`s public relations division Inspector General Anton Bachrul Alam said here on Tuesday.

"Right now we are still questioning him. Regarding where and when he was caught, we will tell you later," he said.

The suspect had changed the wall of the police website www.polri.go.id with a jihad call.

Religious text messages were also been found on the site and a picture and a video had also been shown on the site which was directly lined to YouTube with a similar message.

The head of public information section, Senior Commissioner Boy Rafli Amar, meanwhile said earlier the police first became aware that their website had been hacked on Monday (April 16) when the site needed some repairs.

"It is not yet clear what is the motive behind the action. But it will certainly be found later and we could not as yet tell much about it," he said.
