Bandung, West Java (ANTARA News) - As many as 130 tourism businesses from 10 countries will attend and make transactions at the 13th West Java Travel Exchange (JTX) 2011 in Bandung on June 14-17, a spokesman for the event`s organizers said.

"JTX 2011 will be an arena for tourism and business transactions or a vehicle for the meeting of tourism products from the participants at home and abroad," Hilman Saleh, chairman of JTX`s organizing committee, said here Tuesday.

The international activities that will be presenting the 80 booths will be held at Grand Royal Panghegar Hotel at Jalan Merdeka, Bandung.

The JTX participants will be the targets of West Java tourism product sales which are projected to be able to boost the tourist visits to West Java, Hilwan said.

The cities and districts in West Java have priority to become the participants. They will be accompanied by a number of tourism businesses as well as tour services and travel in order that the transaction and the buyers` wishes could soon be realized.

"The most we invite are from Malaysia, about 30 tour operators. Also from Singapore and Australia that is from Perth, Sydney and Melbourne," Hilwan noted.

There are also six tour operators from Thailand who will be present at the JTX 2011 and become a guide. In addition, there are also participants from Japan, India, Vietnam and Saudi Arabia.

"Saudi Arabia becomes one of the potential tourism market for West Java," Hilwan said.

Meanwhile, a number of European countries who become the participants of JTX are The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.

The activities held by the Association of Indonesian Tour and Travel Agencies (ASITA) of West Java is targeted to rake in more than one million tourists.

For the participating countries, this event becomes a place to collect the products offered in their respective countries. The JTX 2011 event was very important to bring tourists into West Java, Hilwan said.

"This meeting is expected to become an arena of significant transactions involving 120 buyers from home and abroad," he said.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants Association (PHRI) of West Java, Herman Muchtar welcomed JTX 2011 because it was a strategic tourism promotional event for West Java which was currently still required maximum promotion inside and outside the country.

According to Herman, JTX 2011 will be a meeting of all tourism businesses, including from the cities which are the tourist destinations in Indonesia.

In addition to the participants from abroad, the domestic businessmen who will participate in JTX 2011 come from Bandung (West Java), Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Semarang (Central Java), Surabaya (East Java), Lampung, Makassar (South Sulawesi), Bali, Manado (North Sulawesi), Pontianak (West Kalimantan), Pekanbaru (Riau), Padang (West Sumatra), Serang (Banten) and a number of areas in Indonesia.

Herman said, this event became a media campaign along with the players involved in tourism business and encourage the tourism transactions. The delegation was made up of tour and travel agencies, hotels, tourist attractions, restaurants as well as airlines.

JTX has become an annual routine activity and event which is eagerly awaited by the business tourism.

"The enthusiasm of participants is large enough, even the booths that we provide are already booked," Hilwan said.***5***
