Thailand again to hold trade expo in Jakarta

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Thai trade ministry and the Thai Trade Center in Jakarta will again organize a trade exhibition in Jakarta, June 16-19, 2011.

Thai Ambassador to Indonesia Thanatip Upatising told the press here Thursday that the Fifth Thailand Trade Show 2011 will be the biggest ever organized in Indonesia.

"In the exhibition, the Indonesian people will see the real Thailand," Ambassador Thanatip said.

The bilateral ties between Indonesia and Thailand are strong in every aspect and dimension. Therefore, the embassy would continue to promote more intensified cooperation between the two nations in the economic field in particular, Thanatip said.

Indonesia and Thailand have forged equal partnership which is beneficial for both neighboring nations.

Vilasinee Nonsrichai of the Thai Trade Center in Jakarta on the occasion explained that the exhibition will feature 118 Thai companies which produce various goods such as canned food, healthy beverages, decorations, jewelries and fashion.

Visitors will also be offered to taste Thai food and fruits that will be brought directly from Thailand.

There will also be a cooking demonstration by members of the Thai Women`s Association and the Indonesian Chef Association.

"During the expo, we will also display Thai flowers and plants fully supported by the Thai agriculture ministry," he said.

The Thai Trade Show 2009 had been visited by at least 20,000 visitors and recorded significant trade transactions.

Thailand`s ten major exports to Indonesia are automotive spare parts and accessories, chemical, sugar, rice, machinery spare parts, steel and its derivative products, air conditioners, cosmetics, and skin treatment products.

A seminar on business and investment opportunities for Thai and Indonesian businessmen and art performances will also highlight the expo.
