Kuala lumpur (ANTARA News) - General Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Suryo Bambang Sulistio has invited Malaysian businessmen to make an investment in Indonesia in the business sectors including infrastructure, energy, agriculture and others.

"Please come to Indonesia, to become natural partners in building a number of development projects in the country with a population of 240 million people," he said at a dinner with Kadin members and Malaysian businessmen at the Indonesian embassy in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.

He said the potentials and capacity of Malaysian business people in infrastructure is well known including in building roads, bridges and public transportation facilities.

"We envy the good roads and transportation facilities and infrastructure in Malaysia," Suryo said.

With their experience, Malaysian businessmen can also make an investment in roads and infrastructures in Indonesia, he added.

He said Indonesia has become the focus of world attention, and many foreign investors came and operated in Indonesia. In 2010, their investment in Indonesia had reached 20 billion US dollars.

They continued investing in Indonesia not only because of the wide market and many natural resources, but also because of the big work force.

Right now 50 percent of the population in Indonesia is less than 40 years old, a productive phase of humanity.

In terms of income, Indonesia earned 3,000 US dollars per capita and in 2015 targeted to reach 5,000 US dollars, and by 2025 it may become one of the world`s 12 richest countries.

"Under such a condition, Indonesia will have many business opportunities for investors, including from Malaysia," he said.

In the meantime, on the same occasion chairman of the Jakarta Kadin Eddy Kuntadi said that in 2012 Jakarta may at least host the 3rd Muslim World Biz event.

On Thursday morning the Jakarta Kadin and the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) have signed an agreement to hold the 3rd Muslim World Biz event in Jakarta next year, he said.

The exhibition is expected to accommodate many OIC participants and those of some other countries.

"Under the MoU, the OIC has ordered for 300 pavilions for the participants 56 OIC member countries," he said.

The event will be held either at the Jakarta Hilton Convention Centre (JHCC), Senayan, or at the Jakarta Fair ground in Kemayoran.

"We are making preparations, and 40 days after the exhibition (2nd Muslim World Biz) a location would already have been decided, possibly at Convention Center, expected to be inaugurated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono," he said.

Eddy said the expo will not only hold promotions and investments, but also establish cooperation among business people of the OIC member countries.

He believed that the exhibition will have the support of many domestic circles including Kadin, the central government and regional administrations relating to businesses, the mass media and the public in general.(*)
