This important and rare event is used to build scientific and academic information among pharmaceutical colleges in the first Pharmacy Deans Forum in Asia to discuss future pharmaceutical education.
Bandung, W Java (ANTARA News) - Health Minister Endang Rahayu Sedianingsih officially opened the fifth conference of the Asian Association of Schools of Pharmacy (AASP) at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) here Friday.

The Indonesian health minister will also address the seminar.

In her opening address she hoped the result of the conference will serve as inputs for the improvement of health in Asia and in the world.

The fifth conference held once every two years also featured speakers including AASP President Prof Ji-Wang Chern, and American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Lucida Maine.

The fifth conference is held from June 17 to 19, 2011.

The organizer Tutus Gusnidar said it is the first time that the conference is held in Indonesia by the pharmaceutical schools of ITB representing all 66 pharmaceutical training institutions in Indonesia.

"This important and rare event is used to build scientific and academic information among pharmaceutical colleges in the first Pharmacy Deans Forum in Asia to discuss future pharmaceutical education," he said.

Tutus hoped the conference would produce and promote a first-class pharmaceutical training and research system.
