Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police plan to question Panji Gumilang, the chief of the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School in Indramayu, West Java, at the National Police Headquarters on Thursday.

"He will be questioned tomorrow. We only want to find facts," National Police chief intelligence Commissioner General Ito Sumardi said here on Wednesday.

"It is the court that will decide whether or not he is guilty," he said. "If the legal facts are strong, let us wait for tomorrow with regard to his status," he said.

So far 13 witnesses have been questioned and investigators have planned to summon more witnesses.

The police have conducted laboratory tests regarding originality of documents in connection with alleged forgery.

If forgery of signatures was discovered police would move to other witnesses, he said.

Police investigators need information from the Forensic Laboratory Center and if it has come out further legal efforts will be taken, he said.

Police conduct the investigation in connection with reports from the Indonesia Islamic State`s (NII) former minister for production increase, Imam Supriyanto, on May 10, regarding alleged forgery and rumours linked to NII activities in Al Zaytun.

If indications are found later that lead to activities against the legitimate government or other crimes individually or organized further legal steps would be taken.(*)
