Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA News) - A police officer of the Puncak Jaya District police resort, First brigadier Muhamad Yasin, was shot by unknown people at Mulia airport here Friday morning.

He was shot at his left head and immediately rushed to Mulia Public Hospital. He will be evacuated to Jayapura later on the same day.

Five unknown people approached the airport and three of them entered Yasin`s office at the airport and seized his gun and later shoot him.

Police are now still investigating the crime scene at the Mulia airport.
