Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu has praised the Jakarta Fashion Week for being able to promote Indonesia`s creative economic.

"The creative economic that we have seen, has encouragingly developed among other things in fashion. The exhibition activities such as the `Jakarta Fashion Week` is also good," Minister Mari said here Thursday.

Initially, the Jakarta Fashion Week was mainly a fashion show, but now it has been able to invite potential international buyers.

The trade ministry, which helped organized the Jakarta Fashion Week, plans to organize a workshop by inviting national and foreign fashion designers and experts to speak.

The workshop is aimed at understanding the fashion trend next year and tricks to attract more buyers.

In 2010, Jakarta Fashion Week was held in Pacific Place Mall Jakarta on November 6-12. The Jakarta Fashion Week 2011 is being held from June 27 to July 3.

The event is held annually and aimed to provide directions to the Indonesian fashion industry as well as a vehicle to demonstrate its wealth in talents and creativity.

The goal is to turn Jakarta as a major fashion hub in the region and the world.

Since 2008 the Fashion Week is held at the Pacific Place shopping mall in South Jakarta and organized as a collaboration between the Municipal Government of Jakarta, major stakeholders of the fashion industry and Feminagroup.
