Sepang (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian team from the Surabaya Institute of Technology (ITS) and the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) dominated the competition of low-energy consumption Shell Eco-marathon (SEM) in Asia held in Sepang, Malaysia, from July 6 to 9, 2011, for urban cars.

The ITS machine team won the first prize while ITB was second for the Urban Gasoline Award category.

Besides winning the first place, the team covered 150 km per liter using bio-diesel (fatty acid methyl ester/FAME), and also won the Alternative Diesel Award category.

The ITB team covering 117 km per liter not only won first place, it also won the Silver Award for the Internal Combustion Urban category. (*)
