Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) will recheck the number of families entitled to rice-for-the poor (Raskin) packages in 56 villages in West Jakarta, an official said.

"The field checks will be carried out to verify the real number of families that deserve the packages in West Jakarta," H Ruslan, an official at the social welfare office of the West Jakarta regional government, said here on Tuesday.

Based on data made available in 2009, the number of RTS recipients was recorded at 37,194 but when the BPS census in 2010 the figure dropped to 33,558.

"We want to check it to see whether the number of poor families in West Jakarta has dropped or not," he said.
