Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Boediono has asked for the management of the country`s border areas to be conducted in an integrated rather than partial way, beginning in 2012.

"The management of border areas which so far has been carried out partially should be synergized in a big frame and master plan on the management of borderlines and border areas beginning in 2012," the vice president said.

He made the remarks when opening a working meeting of officials or members of the National Board for Borderline and Border Area Management (BNPP) here on Wednesday.

It was important for the polices of ministries and institutions to be integrated and synergized in order to achieve a maximal results, he said.

The vice president said that the documents on the State Borderline Management and Development of Border Areas which were drawn up every year should not merely serve as a note on the work plans of the ministries, institutions and regional governments.

Yet, the action plans should serve as an instrument of integrated policies and programs, and as a means of measurement of evaluation and control.

Therefore, programs contained in the action plans should get priorities, he said.(*)
