Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto has asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to investigate alleged corruption in the Hambalang project.

"KPK must investigate all the allegations," he said here on Monday in his comments on the issue raised by former Democrat Party treasurer Muhammad Nazaruddin.

Nazaruddin who has been named a corruption suspect made the accusations from his hide out abroad through a television interview after he was banned to travel abroad by KPK.

Djoko said that in corruption the state suffers a loss."Investigating it is the task of the KPK." he added.

He said the investigation was important to prevent suspicion and polemics. "It is a must to prevent polemics," he said.

Nazaruddin in his statements from overseas accused Democrat Party chief Anas Urbaningrum of receiving funds from the project for use in the party`s congress.

"Out of a total of Rp1.2 trillion for the Hambalang project Rp100 billion has been distributed to House of Representatives members about Rp30 billion through Anas` friend Mahfud, as a success fee for Anas election as party chief and to Ifang totaling Rp50 billion, to Anas consultant as a presidential candidate totaling Rp20 billion," Nazaruddin said in his message sent through a Blackberry Messenger service to several media recently.
