Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s car market prospects seems to be brighter marked by increasing number of visitors to the current Indonesia International Motor Show.

Division Manager of Automotive Dyandra Promosindo Lia Indriasari said here on Monday the number of visitors in the last three days of the exhibition had reached 103,951 compared to 57,987 last year.

Data from Dryanda Promosindo the number of visitors at the opening of the exhibition reached 28,521 and on the second day 35,192.

The hike was clearly seen in the third day when the number was recorded at 40,238 compared to 26,527 last year.

At the opening of the 19th IIMS, chief organizer Jhony Darmawan said he hoped the event would be a barometer of Indonesia`s economic development.

He hoped the exhibition would not only attract local visitors but also foreign investors to develop their business in the country.

He said the committee had set a target of 300,000 visitors with transactions expected to reach Rp2.7 trillion, up by Rp200 billion from last year`s.

The 19th IIMS running from July 22 to July 31 is attended by 256 participants including 32 sole agents and 220 supporting industries.

The number of the participants rose by 21 percent from last year`s record of 203. (*)
