Gaza City (ANTARA News) - Israeli warplanes early Tuesday bombed a pair of targets in the Gaza Strip following an rocket attack that wounded an Israeli.

The overnight strikes targeted smuggling tunnels and a field Israel says was used to train militants.

The Palestinians did not report any injuries in the strike.

"The IDF (Israel Defence Forces) will not allow the Israeli southern communities to continue living under constant threat," an Israeli military statement said. I

Public security minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch on Monday called on Israel to undertake a large-scale military operation in the Gaza Strip in response to continued rocket fire from the territory into southern Israel.
