Sidoarjo, E Java (ANTARA News) - Local customs authorities have foiled an attempt of smuggling in 703 grams of heroin and 95 grams of crystal methamphetamine (shabu-shabu).

The contraband was seized from Malaysian nationals identified by their initials as GBT and LSC, Head of the Customs and Excise Control and Service at Juanda Airport Buhari Sirait said on Friday.

Both were arrested at different occasions, he said.

"GWT was arrested after customs officers were suspicious of the way how he walked. The officers then checked his belongings but they did not find what they were suspicious of," he said.

GWT was later taken to a hospital to undergo an X-ray to see what he had concealed in his stomach, he said.

"Based on the result of X-ray we found five capsules from his stomach and we decided to take them out," he said.

The capsules consisted of four capsules containing white crystal weighing 95 grams and one capsule containing white powder weighing 3 grams, he said. (*)
