Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA News) - National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia will increase its Surabaya-Denpasar flight frequency from to anticipate increasing passengers during Lebaran holiday exodus, Garuda spokesman Ismu Gito Waluyo said here on Wednesday.

"Normally Garuda flight frequency from Surabaya to Denpasar is four times per day but we will increase it to five times per day in the run up to Lebaran holiday exodus," Ismu said.

He said the increase of Garuda`s Surabaya-Denpasar flight frequency would be effective on August 27 and 28, 2011.

"The fleet we will operate to meet the market demand is the Boeing 373-800 air planes," Ismu said, adding that Garuda would operate only one unit of Boeing 373-800 because it had a big loading capacity.

He said Boeing 373-800 aircraft could carry 150 passengers of economic class and 12 passengers of business class.

According to him, the additional flight frequency was for Surabaya-Denpasar route only while for the other routes the flight frequency would remain the same as that in normal days.

Ismu said Gadura has 16 flights per day from Surabaya to Jakarta while for Surabaya-Ambon, Surabaya-Makassar, and Surabaya-Balikpapan respectively had one flight per day.

"The average load factor for all routes including Surabaya-Jakara has reached 80 percent," he said, adding that there would be no increase in ticket prices during Lebaran holiday exodus.

He pointed out that Surabaya-Denpasar tickets ranged from Rp800 to Rp1.3 million per passenger and Surabaya-Jakarta tickets from Rp500,000 to Rp1.3 million per passenger.
