Bandung, West Java (ANTARA News) - The West Java branch of the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) will conduct market operations before and after the Lebaran festivity for three basic commodities, local trade and industry department sopkesman Ferry Sofyan Arief said here on Monday.

"Rice, cooking oil, and sugar market operation is being discussed and hopefully it will conducted in the next few days in 26 district/cities in West Java," Ferry said.

He said West Java provincial government has allocated regional budget amounting Rp38.5 billion for the market operation for three basic commodities in 26 district/cities in the province.

According to him, Bogor district would get Rp3 billion of the funds and Banjar town would get the least for the market operation.

Ferry said the funds would be distributed in a subsidized system for the market operation, namely for rice subsidy was Rp2,500 per kg, while sugar and cooking oil was Rp2,500 per kg respectively.

"If the medium quality rice price is Rp6,600 per kg, the local government will subsidize Rp1,500 per kg, while for cooking oil and sugar is respectively Rp2,500 per kg," Ferry said.

He said the market operation would be conducted in two sessions namely before Lebaran and after Lebaran because the prices of the three basic commodities have a tendency to fluctuate.

"The distribution process is being coordinated in order to make the market operation before and after Lebaran festivity a great success," said the West Java Trade and Industry Department spkesman.
