Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will announce the names of nominees for its chairman after they have been submitted to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, a spokesman said.

The chairman of the committee in charge of selecting nominees for the KPK chief, Patrialis Akbar, said on Thursday the committee was expected to submit the names of nominees for the KPK chief on Thursday afternoon.

"President Yudhoyono is scheduled to receive the committee on Thursday afternoon at 01.00 p.m," Patrialis who is also the law and human rights minister said when attending the commemoration of the Constitutional Day at the parliament building.

After President Yudhoyono had received the names of nominees for the KPK chief they would be announced at the state palace, he said.

Asked if a police officer was among the eight nominees, Patrialis said : "Let`s wait and see."

After receiving the list of nominees for the KPK chief, President Yudhoyono would later pass it on to the House of Representatives (DPR) to undergo a fit and proper test.

The eight names of nominees for the KPK chief will later be shortlisted to four.
