Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State-owned pawnshop company PT Pegadaian is organizing a free `Mudik` (home-bound trips) program for 1,300 Idul Fitri travelers to various cities in Java, its director said.

Among the destinations are Malang, Surabaya, Madiun, Solo, Wonogiri, Yogyakara, Semarang and Purwokerto destinations, the director said.

"The Idul Fitri travelers are customers of PT Pegadaian and their family members," PT Pegadaian President Director Suwhono said here on Friday.

He said that PT Pegadain should be able to take part in providing social responsibility to the people, in accordance with its mission to improve the welfare of the people.

Suwhono said that his company`s care for the people was realized in the form of various social responsibility between the company and its stakeholders, namely customers, employees, community, owners, and even competitors.

He said that his company had been organizing Mudik for free since 2008 where this year it is carried out in Jakarta and Makassar.

The dispatches of the Idul Fitri travelers were expected to run smoothly where the company provides 24 buses. (*)
