Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian government strongly condemns last Wednesday`s terrorist attack outside the High Court in New Delhi, India, that took a number of lives and injured dozens of innocent people.

"The Government of Indonesia conveys its deepest sympathy and condolences to the Government and People of India and the victims along with their bereaved families. The Government of Indonesia supports the efforts of the Government of India to bring the perpetrators to justice," the Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a press statement here Thursday.

The terrorist attack in New Delhi, India clearly shows that terrorism remains a threat to all humankind and requires continuous vigilance and cooperation amongst all parties and nations to overcome all acts of terrorism and extremism, the government said.

In Wednesday`s incident, a powerful bomb hidden in a briefcase exploded outside the High Court in New Delhi, India, killing at least 11 people and wounding 76 others.

The local police said the bomb had apparently been placed in a briefcase near the court house`s entrance where scores of people were queuing for entry passes to the court complex, situated in the center of the Indian capital.

Recent bombings in India include a blast in February last year at a packed restaurant in the western city of Pune, which killed 16 people including several foreigners.

In 2006, a series of seven high-powered blasts on suburban trains in Mumbai killed 187 commuters and left 800 injured.
