Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police have foiled an attempt to smuggle meth from Malaysia by Tiar Cornia who had pushed the illegal drug into her stomach through her anus.

"Suspect Tiar Cornia was a courier. She kept the meth in 14 capsules in her stomach put through her anus in her effort to smuggle it into Indonesia through Batam from Johor, Malaysia, on September 10, 2011," National Police`s head of public information Brigadier General Ketut Untung Yoga Ana said here on Thursday.

He said Tiar Cornia put the meth in the house of African nationals Brother Brit and Grace in Subang, Malaysia.

"After arriving in Batam Tiar then flew to Jakarta by Lion Air," he said.

On September 12, 2011, Tiar then took the meth out of her stomach after sleeping for several hours at her home on Jalan KP Bulu RT004/003, Setia Mekar, Tambun, Bekasi.

"Upon further investigation the police at the same time caught Diany Theresia Elisabeth who received the 14 capsules of meth weighing 75 grams from Tiar," Yoga said.

Diany was arrested in front of the gate of her house on Jalan Lumbu Utara Raya No276, Block II RT008.RW019, Bumi Bekasi Baru Housing Complex.

"Diany has three times tried to smuggle meth by swallowing it. The first involved 24 capsules, the second 20 and the third 22," he said. (*)
