Ambon, Maluku (ANTARA News) - Former Vice President Jusuf Kalla is ready to speak on peace at an International Youth for World Peace meeting in Ambon on Saturday, October 1, 2011, an official said.

"The former vice president expressed his readiness to Governor Karel Albert Ralahalu on Thursday evening," Maluku`s Regional Executive Council of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) chairman Zaharuddin Latuconsina said here on Friday.

He said Kalla was scheduled to be a keynote speaker at the meeting, to be organized by World Assembly of Youth (WAY).

"Mr Kalla has a strategy to realize peace in a number of conflict areas in Indonesia, and therefore he is expected to share his experiences at the world youth meeting which is to last in Ambon from Friday to Sunday, Sept 30 - Oct 2, 2011," Latuconsina said.

According to him, the former vice president used to play his role in solving the conflict in Maluku, Central Sulawesi, and Aceh provinces, and that he had a strategic contribution for peace in Mindanao, the Philippines.

"Thus the peace material to be presented by the former vice president and those for other source countries will later be an input to the participants of the meeting to formulate Ambon Declaration," he noted.

Latuconsina said that Ambon Declaration was also part of the agenda at a meeting of Central Executive Council`s Chairman of the Indonesian Youth National Committee, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, with the Youth Organizations across Asia Pasific in Darwin, Australia, on July 23, 2011.

"Accompanying Ahmad Doli Kurnia at the meeting in Darwin, I noted that one of the agenda was about the necessity of Ambon Declaration," Latuconsina said.
